Doc Maan, with AJ the aspiring Vet

When the call of duty needs us, we don't compromise. When our daughter needs us, we don't compromise. But what if duty and daughter calls at the same time?

Today has been an okay day at the clinic. Lot of clients walked in, all of us four (Me, Doc M, Doc Z, Diana was present for duty. The only concerning thing is that we had FIVE cases of canine Parvo, all diagnosed within last week of which two has already decided to go to pet heaven. (You will be missed, Blackie and Princess). Add to this, a client walked in with his dog diagnosed for Ehrlichiosis. Long week ahead, I suppose.

We decided that we need to confine every one of the dogs to the clinic, so they can be properly monitored. We already lost two of them, we don't want to lose more.. we were already all in on the effort - only problem is, I am not qualified to do the monitoring, dispensing and I.V. fixing the dogs. We didn't want our partners to commit, since they have been watching over the patients for 2 days now, when they were confined on their house.

Doc Maan is qualified. Being a doctor in a vet hospital in Makati, doing graveyard shifts with multiple confinements, she is the man (woman) for the job. but here's another dilemma - AJ, our daughter will only sleep when latched to her Mommy, breastfeeding. She can't be at two places at the same time..lightbulb moment.. maybe she can!??

Receiving area = sleeping area

Pack your beddings, bring your daughter, and call for a clinic sleepover! This way, we are at our bed, which is at our clinic! I was kind of conflicted with the idea at first, but then I remembered our vision for the clinic - that we want to be known as a clinic that doesn't compromise, that doesn't give up. So then, off we went.

Every one of our patients stood up in greeting, letting us get a sigh of relief. I don't want to get my hopes up because by nature, Parvo is super fatal.. I mean, we just wanted to do everything possible

for them, cheer them on, because they have been fighting real hard. As much as the reality of the matter is that we may not be able to save them all, at least we tried, we don't want to have regrets.

I sincerely, seriously hope they get well. Buster, Grey, Chiqui, Olivia, we are cheering for you!!
